Impressions from La Roseraie de Sacha

La Roseraie is growing and flourishing! Every Sunday a new group arrives and mixes with the people already here.

Every week a new talent emerges from the people that we can all learn from. Everyone participates in the work we are doing, and there are many hours to stroll in the fields or to sit under a tree.

Each day we are able to eat from our abundant vegetable garden. We are continuously working on maintenance, repairs and renovations. This week the dining room is completely finished! After a long time of drought it has been raining for several days, which was most necessary.

Guru Purnima

We have had a very special Guru Purnima celebration at La Roseraie de Sacha for the first time. In the morning we held a ceremony of gratitude for this remarkable, magical place of which we take care. The sangha has offered Prajnaparamita a big crystal bowl that we use now during Gayatri mantra and ceremonies. The sound is immense and deeply touching. Prajnaparamita thanks you all!

We have laid out a Dharma Chakra Wheel together. Over the last ten years we have collected stones from power places all over the whole world. We have collected ashes of dozens of havans, water from the Ganges and Lourdes, malas from the mahasamadi of Anandamayi Ma, blessings from the Dalai Lama, crystals from Egypt ... a long list. All of these objects went into the wheel. Everyone at the ceremony made an object from natural materials found at La Roseraie and placed it with an intention for what La Roseraie can come to mean for the world. This wheel is now a beautiful place for meditation, singing and prayer.

The children enjoyed a ride over the fields in the tractor and there was a delicious meal - a good time had by all! In the evening there was a beautiful Guru Purnima ceremony, with more singing and an intimate togetherness. The following morning we initiated the tipi that Suresh has donated to the sangha. It is such a great initiative. Over 50(!!) people attended in the tipi and Puja led the havan. It will be a fantastic place for many future ceremonies!

Pelle

Some weeks ago a little kitten, about 10 weeks old,  has been brought to the door, beautiful, vibrant, cute and covered in flees.

We brought him to the vet to get him checked out and treated. One of the children here decided to call the little kitten Pelle. Pellegrin is French for pilgrim, and as the boy said, he came knocking on the door of La Roseraie.

And just like that Pelle has become our newest resident - playing with almost anything he can find.

La Roseraie from Autumn onwards

Prajnaparamita has decided to also be at La Roseraie in Autumn and the winter. Theme weeks will be organised, of which one will be a wood week. During wood week we will be planting, chopping, trimming, sawing and splitting trees. Dates will be announced at further notice.
