Resonances

Resonances with Roos’ Drum

What is resonance and what does it do?

Everything in the universe is energy, vibrating across a broad spectrum of frequencies. In that context, resonance is literally a universal physical phenomenon. A ‘system’ starts vibrating or reacting more strongly when exposed to a frequency that corresponds to its own natural frequency.

Resonances are packets of energy that interfere (resonate) with their environment. They can change their environment, so they can change us too.  We notice this through feelings, thoughts, or other perceptions. Sometimes we do not notice a change because we have little awareness in parts of our body, for example in individual cells.

Some resonances have an impact that we might describe as ‘annoying or stress-increasing’. For example, very high notes or extremely loud grunge punk. Other sounds bring harmony and relaxation, such as Bach’s music or mantras. Usually our focus is directed toward those relaxing resonances. For we know that the deeper we can relax, the more naturally life can be lived.

Here, the ‘Roos resonances’ play their special role.

How do the vibrations on the drum end up in the sea sounds?

We digitally captured various sounds that resonated on Roos’s drum during the last shaman week at La Roseraie de Sacha. These recordings were subsequently incorporated into a ritual specifically aligned with these sounds. During that ritual, the vibrations on the drum merge with sea sounds. The ‘seawater’ absorbs the essence of the sounds and can also return it.

Mysterious? Certainly! By playing the sea sounds, the seawater releases what it has absorbed, for the benefit of everyone.

Why do I only hear the surf?

The resonances on Roos’s drum can also be absorbed into other sounds. Jazz music, whale or bird song, African drum rhythms – it is all possible. But the choice was made for the waves rolling onto the beach, as the sound of water has absorbed all the vibrations of the earth for billions of years. Water from which we emerged during evolution. Water that forms the basis for life as we know it on Earth.

Innovation? A Yantra of a Roos resonance!

Nowadays, much scientific research is being conducted into the (physical) nature of existence, and innovative techniques have also been developed to see the form that arises from sound.

The Indians call this a Yantra. This photo is a snapshot of a water surface while a ‘Roos resonance’ is being played. Voilà!

Onno

Words from Roos

All manifestation is vibration – sound. When I tune into something, I am empty. The sound of what I tune into resonates on my drum. Here I have tuned into the Sacha Lineage, in which Narad appears as a beam of light.

Narad is the Adi-guru, the first guru of the Sacha Lineage, thousands of years ago. All gurus of the Sacha Lineage carry the energy of Narad within them.

Then the sound fills with many Masters from authentic spiritual traditions worldwide. The transmission of Prajnaparamita is also represented in the sound.

I receive all of this in my heart and am grateful that I can discern and pass on both the sound and the knowledge of it.

When you listen to this, you only need to receive the sounds. For this natural receiving, you do not need to know or understand anything.

See it as a mysterious blessing on your life path.

With love, Roos
