We in the West are not familiar with the concept ‘guru’. People cherish all kind of preconceived ideas about ‘guru’, potentially seeing it as an enforced surrender to an authoritative person.
We cannot even imagine an impersonal authority that is not dominant or suppressing, but uplifting and inspiring. An authentic guru is merely serving, needing nothing from you.
This weekend, you’ll embark on a journey of discovery with essential questions: Do I need a Guru on the path of awakening? Can I admit that I don’t really know what a Guru is? How do I recognise a true and honest Guru?
This rare gathering at Gut Saunstorf Monastery offers you the opportunity to explore these questions in the presence of two living masters.
